Default ASOP hand discussion

How would play this hand differently from both players perspective.

Blinds 25/50

You 825 chips UTG with 33
Opp 2173 chips UTG+2 with 55

You call 50, Opp raises to 100, You call 50

Flop 3s5s8s

Check, Check

Turn 4c

You bet 250, Opp raises all in, you call 475.

i dont like the fold here because that will leave me in the danger zone in just a couple of hands as the blinds double to 50/100. But it still may be the best option.

But it's better then the danger zone of zero chips.

IMHO...the 3 on the flop already doomed you. You only called preflop in hopes of getting your 3. You got it. Was it the spades that would have changed things? I think you move in on the flop. I only say that because of the 3 spades showing. Of course you should know that 55 doesn't lose, but beside that, I think you've already lost here and no matter how it shakes out (short of a 4th spade on the turn or river), all of your chips are going in.

If this is a full table, then fold pre-flop (instead of limping). If it is short-handed and the table is tight, think about raising, but fold anyways.

I fold to the reraise pre-flop on this one. I know it's only 50 more chips, but I absolutely want in for the minimum. I limp with the hope of lots of limpers after me, and fold to any reraise. That being said, once I see this flop, I lose all my chips.

With 33, I'd play the same way that you played pre-flop. Then I'd go all-in on the flop.

With 55, I wouldn't have raised pre-flop. I would have moved all-in on the flop, raised to all-in on the flop, or called all-in on the flop. No sense in letting someone catch their flush for free.

I was definately willing to go all in on the flop but i wanted to double up given that i hit my set. I checked and would have raised all in if he fired back at me. If he checked as well and no spade came on 4th street it was time to move.

To bring another perspective (from your opp)

I think after I see you check here on the flop, I move all in. You are likely to check with 2 spades, I know, but flopping a flush is an outside chance, and so I try to bully you. I have you covered so if I make a mistake, I still have ~1300 chips, but if you have only the Ace of spades, I make you pay to complete your flush....plus I have outs with a full house. I can not possibly put you on a bigger set...just like you couldnt put him on a bigger set.
