Here's a bizarre and provocative idea: Let's allow Israel to become a member of the United States of America. Nothing in the Constitution delimits the boundaries of our nation, so they are not "too far away" from a Constitutional perspective.
They would need to accept and they would need to be admitted by Congress. Then, we could protect them as one of our own, which we have essentially been doing. Further, this would impose equal protection and other Constitutional protections for the Palestinians. It would also establish the Israeli boarder as our own, and thus subject to our immigration controls. Presumably, their would be some sort of one-time amnesty for Palestinians wishing to immigrate. Just a wild idea. |

You should head over to Palestine and broadcast your great idea. We'll all chip in for the plane ticket

No doubt I can find 5 or 6 extremists to accompany me on my plane trip, so as to ensure my safety.

So, Isreal will have to allow religous freedom. Merge/slash their miltary and spy network. Will be unable to declare new housing "jewish settlements". They will have to accept any American who wants to move there or do business there.
They get two senators just like California, Illinois, Florida or New York. Palestinians will be able to hire tort lawyers in New York and sue the ass off of the new state of Isreal. I'm surprised the lawyer lobby didn't suggest this years ago. Also, the cigarette settlement will have to be amended to add in all the unhealthy isreali addicts who didn't know smoking was addictive. |
