Default Masters Contest

Objective: To score lowest sum of average placements in the pool.

The rules.
1. Pick any eight players. But: Four must be 35 or older by final round on Sunday. Four must be under 35 on Sunday. www.masters.org has birthdates of each player.
2. "Sum of average placements" = an example works best: a four-way tie for 10th place is scored as 11.5, as it's the mean of (10, 11, 12, 13).
3. Players cut will remain at their cut placement for the duration of the tourney.
4. Deadline: Wednesday 4/10, 9:00 PM EDT.
5. Prizes: Everyone you beat owes you one beer. Work the date-and-place details amongst yourselves. No time limit.
6. PM me your picks. That way no one can edit their picks. No, I don't trust any of you!
7. I will release all picks after the deadline. You can keep track as well, but I should be able to post updated standings after the end of each round.

Cool! I'm looking forward to this. I like my "Over 35" team.

Oops, could that be considered smack talk?

I'll have updates, weather permitting, after each round. Saturday's round might have to wait until I'm done watching Sunday's, as I'm not scheduled to report on Saturday. Maybe from home, if I remember to send myself the spreadsheet that makse this easy.

Mick Fan has the most diverse group among us.

I decided not to choose Mickelson after last week's fiasco. Four shots back on the last hole, and he has to make a great shot AND eagle putt AND hope that the leader double-bogeys. OR, he can take lay up for the birdie and take home an extra $150,000, or split second and third money with a par. But no.
It's always called "risk and reward" but should be called "risk and reward/penalty."

There's rain in the forecast. That should mean more aggressive golf. Mick will love it.

I have my live leaderboard up

http://www.masters.org/scores/hbyh/hbyh1_1.html

No birdies on the first hole in the first 16 guys and only 1 birdie on Par 5 #2.

I LOVE THIS TOURNEY!

The weather affects your ability to update? Is your computer outside?

Mickelson has had some amazing colapses, but he has been in most of the tournaments, which is what really counts here.

I usually like Els, but I just haven't seen much of him this year yet.
