So this may seem like a question from a dinosaur, but here goes. I currently have the BA-35, but everyone seems to be using the BAII Plus. Is it that much better? I bought it back when the BAII Plus wasn't allowed. I'm not cheap, I just don't feel like getting used to a new calculator unless it makes that much of a difference. Thanks. Sorry to be a

I don't know what the BA-35 has, but I used the BA II+ and I really like it. It can do a bunch of stuff with annuities (calculate PV, FV, Int, # of periods, or payment). I would recommend getting it.

If there is an internal rate of return question on the exam, the BAII plus has a cash flow mode to handle it. I had the BA35 for a while, but I like the plus more because it has memory storage locations, has a better quality feel and it calculates faster than my HP12C.

I'm sitting for my first attempt at C2 this fall and I have the BA-35 Solar. So far I haven't found any TOI that I can't do with that and/or simple formulas. If there was something I couldn't do that I could do with another calculator to save precious exam time, I would get that. But I haven't found that to be the case......at least not yet.

I have the BA-35 solar and haven't had any problems with it. From reading the previous post, I think the BAII plus can handle multiple cashflows, which I am pretty sure(or at least I don't how to) the BA35 doesn't. If I wasn't already accustomed to the BA35 I would think about using the BAII plus.

BAII Plus is what I used to pass Exam II, But I will warn you , they reset the memory and settings so you will have to make sure you reset the C/Y and I/Y to what you want. Last exam the first 3 or 4 questions related to TOI I could not get the right answer and was really frustrated becasue TOI is definitely my best subject.......Then I figured out I was compounding 12 times a year when I thought I was compounding only once. I went back and those 3 or 4 problems were a breeze using the right settings!!!

I was thinking of getting BA II plus, but all the calculator problems in ACTEX are given for BA35 solar. Do you guys think I should get BA II plus or BA35 solar? Price difference here in Canada is 20 bucks.

Personally, I'm using the BA35 because that's what I'm used to and I don't want to fiddle around trying to figure out how to use a new calc. Besides, if you read the BPP notes that you download for free, they say that either one will be good for the exam and but I've noticed that the study manual gives you BA35 tips. I don't think you have to do any NPV questions for the corp fi section but they might change that next sitting when the questions concentrate more on TOI and Finance.
