Default Blob Chess Tournament

Now that exams are over, and games in Season VI are waning, I propose a Blob Chess Tournament - just for fun. This is just something new to try out and enjoy, and I assume that these games would not be counted in the PMS system.

The rules are simple. The pieces move as they normally do, including castling, en passant, and pawn promotion. All checks are as normal, and if you can't get out of check, you lose (Blob-mate). However, there are two restrictions on movement.

Restriction #1) You can move a piece only if it is adjacent (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) to another one of YOUR pieces before you move it. (This implies that a lone piece cannot move. Also, you cannot castle if either your rook or king are not adjacent to anything.)

Restriction #2) The piece must land on a square that is adjacent (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) to another one of YOUR pieces.

You win the game in one of two ways. #1) Put your opponent into check so that he cannot get out of check (Blob-mate). OR #2) Immobilize your opponent so they cannot move at all either due to stalemate or due to the fact that all their pieces are "lone" pieces.

The only way to draw is for both sides to agree to a draw.

For more information on the game itself, you can check out my original post, which describes "Pure" Blob Chess at the top and this Chess variant near the bottom: Blob Chess

Here are the rules of this tournament. Post in this thread to challenge someone and to accept the challenge. You can also request an open ended challenge (such as "I'd like to play five opponents"). Just as we did with "Three Checks", let's use our "TC" logins so we don't confuse these games with our normal chess games. For example, if I were "Mel-o-rama", I would login as "Mel-o-ramaTC." If I wanted to invite Anonymouse to play, I'd invite "AnonymouseTC." Use the random generator to choose your color, unless you specify your color in your challenge. Play out the game. Then post the result and the game on this thread. At the end I'll compile the results and tally the games won, and the winning ratio for each participant.

ILLEGAL MOVES - If at any time you think your opponent has made an illegal move, immediately request an Undo. If both of you miss the illegal move, then so be it - keep on playing. It's up to the individual to make sure their opponent doesn't make an illegal move. If you're not sure whether or not a move is illegal, you can ask me either in this thread or by PM (I love PMs) and I'll settle the matter. But you really shouldn't have any problems with that as long as you ask yourself two questions: #1) Before you moved the piece, was it adjacent to one of your pieces? #2) After you moved the piece, was it adjacent to one of your pieces? If the answer is "no" to either question, then it was an illegal move, and you better Undo it.

Let the games begin. All games in this tournament must be started before Friday, Dec. 3. And you can take as long as you need to finish each game.

Have fun.
