Default frikin Republican hypocracy

So now that the election is over, Republicans all of a sudden have a moral consience and are demanding that Kofi Annan resign!!!!!!
Sh*t would be laughable if they didn't have the power to actually force his resignation. Where were the calls for ANYONE to resign after Abhu Grahib??? Where were the calls for Powell to resign after telling bold faced lies to the world???? I'm so frikin P.O.ed right now. AAAGGHHHH.

Its gonna be a tough 4 years for real.

Right, Mr. Soul.

See, it's OK for Cheney to continue to get deferred compensation from Halliburton. No conflict there.

Perfectly OK for Baker to play both sides of the coin with Kuwait while representing the President with regard to Iraqi foreign debt. No problem.

But, Annan's son recieving deferred compensation from a company implicated in the OFF scandal? That is completely unacceptable.

Good analogy except Annan isn't receiving deferred compensation.

The company said Swiss law required that it continue the payments for the length of time the younger Annan was prohibited from working for a competitor under the agreement.
Sounds like non-compete pay.

How is this better?

Why do you care who is Secretary General of the UN, or that the Republicans might attempt to remove the current place-holder? Can you explain to me how it matters in the least who holds that job? What the hell has Kofi freakin' Annan done? Come on. I don't know why we continue to bankroll the UN (anyone?), but given that we do, I'm all in favor of demanding some accountability for what goes on there.

I tend to agree.

My complaint here is that those who demand accountability at the UN do not demand it from the administration.

You guys bank roll the Army too but no one called for accountability for systematic torture. You guys bank roll the State Dept. too but did anyone call for heads to roll after Powell's false presentation? NO!!

In fact, those very same republicans have always maintained that Cheney recieving defferred compensation from a company that gets no-bid contracts from the govmt is a non issue. Now Annan's son (not even Annan himslef but his son) gets deffered comp and he needs to resign. Thats like saying Powell should resign cause the Janet Jackson incident happend on his son's watch.
