Default What's going on in Chechnya?

I've read some about the fight. Not a lot.
Are they freedom fighters, or terrorists?

My personal opinion: extremely misguided freedom fighters with deplorable, disgusting tactics, who will make no progress whatsoever unless they get some kind of legitimate leadership.

I would prefer that Chechnya never be independent of Russia if the way they're trying to accomplish this does not change and fast.

Terrorists with somewhat reasonable motivations, but their terrorist tactics overwhelm any possible legitimacy.

I like that better than what I posted before.

Personally, I'm referring to both of the involved parties in Chechnya.

Certainly the US does things wrong (like invading Iraq)...but if you want to see some old-school ghosts of Stalin...go take a peek over there.

But, 2pac doesn't care about Chechnya or the Russians...he just wants to attack the US. Frankly, as long as you aren't Israel or the US...you get a free pass from him.

There are some that are true freedom fighters, and mostly engange the Russian millitary forces. There are some that are terrorists, and are trying to force the Russians out by their attrocities.

Putin wants to paint all sides as terrorists, to justify the Russian rather heavy handed tactics in Chechnya.
