Default Investors suing Investments

Two articles in my daily "insurance email news" caught my eye. Is this the latest trend? If your stock tanks, and there is some hint of impropriety, you sue?

Not the latest trend, it's been going on for a while.

In russia, investors don't sue investments, Investments sue YOU!

In korea, only old people sue.

This has been happening for years. Class action suits are where the money is (at least for plaintiff's attorneys), haven't you heard?

Not a great way to recoup investment losses. Over a year ago I filled out some material to join a class action suit on Lucent. I lost about $6,000. Based on the material they sent me, I stand to collect about $350- before taxes.

I haven't seen the money yet, of course.

I guess what gets me is that there is an inherant risk in investing. It's like those boneheaded soldiers going to Canada and trying to claim refugee status cause they deserted. They knew the risks before joining.

Anyway, I'm off my soapbox for now.

If you're going to overuse Yakov, can you at least get it right?

Inherent risk doesn't excuse criminal activity.
