Default Who makes more?

Actuaries vs. significant other

If you don't have some reasonable idea of how much your boyfriend/girlfriend makes, I'm defining that as "not a serious relationship".

I seem to fall into some of your missing categories...
You are missing "we make almost exactly the same salary"

I could only be so lucky (no offense to my beloved spouse, of course)

But to Kitten's point...If you make "almost" an equal amount, then one of you makes more than the other, right?

OK then, since salary is not a fully continuous variable (and in fact most salaries are in fairly round numbers) it is possible to have exactly the same salary as your spouse/partner.

Also it is possible, with bonuses especially, that salaries might not be far enough apart to know for certain which spouse is making more.

what about single-income families? Obviously i make more, but it doesn't seem like a valid choice to just say 'i make more'...

I thought about that when I set it up and decided to post it as is. But I suppose you could set up a "does your spouse work" poll to make the appropriate adjustement if you'd like to...?
