Stay away from the quarter slots. The dollar slots have a better payback ratio. If you can memorize the strategy, go with Video Poker.

Talking to someone I know (not a stupid person) who mentioned that she had bought some shares of a $0.75 stock because a friend had gotten a message mistakenly left on her answering machine from someone touting it to a friend. When I told her it was a scam, she agreed that that made sense, but she hadn't had any suspicions until I told her.

(Anger at the scammers, a little sorry for the acquaintance, but she only invested a few hundred dollars and, who knows, maybe she'll be able to get most of it back by selling soon while the scammers are still leaving messages.)
