(Mods, I know this is technically a game, but can we keep it here for the time being what with all of the web filtering problems with "Diversions"?)
This is more or less the same contest as I ran last year, which was a direct rip-off of CubedBee's Oscar contest...Hopefully I'll get better participation this year by setting it up a bit farther in advance. Not all of the Grammy categories are consistent from year to year, so there's a few changes from last year's contest, but for the most part with a few exceptions, we should be picking the bigger awards (If any of the ones I picked aren't given out on TV, the winners will be named on the Grammy website). And if you gripe about having to pick too many categories, at least you're not picking the award for best liner notes... The offical scoring will be: Album of the Year: 3 points Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist: 2 points Other Categories: 1 point The Grammy Awards are on CBS, February 13th at 8 EST, so I will make picks due by February 13th at noon EST. You can edit your picks as many times as you would like, provided the last edit is before the deadline. Don't PM me your picks, post them here and increase your post count. Once again, glenn has hooked us up with a prize for this game... however it's yet to be determined what it will be, but don't let that deter you from playing! (In the event of a tie based on points, the earlier entry will win.) Album of the Year Genius Loves Company, Ray Charles and Various Artists American Idiot, Green Day The Diary of Alicia Keys, Alicia Keys Confessions, Usher The College Dropout, Kanye West Record of the Year "Let's Get It Started", Black Eyed Peas "Here We Go Again", Ray Charles & Norah Jones "American Idiot", Green Day "Heaven", Los Lonely Boys "Yeah!", Usher featuring Lil Jon & Ludacris Song of the Year "Daughters", John Mayer "If I Ain't Got You", Alicia Keys "Jesus Walks", Kanye West "Live Like You Were Dying", Tim McGraw "The Reason", Hoobastank Best New Artist Los Lonely Boys Maroon 5 Joss Stone Kanye West Gretchen Wilson Best Female Pop Vocal Performance "Oceania", Björk "The First Cut Is The Deepest", Sheryl Crow "Sunrise", Norah Jones "What You Waiting For?", Gwen Stefani "You Had Me", Joss Stone Best Male Pop Vocal Performance "Let's Misbehave", Elvis Costello "You Raise Me Up", Josh Groban "Daughters", John Mayer "Cinnamon Girl", Prince "Love's Devine", Seal Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal "My Immortal", Evanescence "The Reason", Hoobastank "Heaven", Los Lonely Boys "She Will Be Loved", Maroon 5 "It's My Life", No Doubt Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals "Redemption Song", Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word", Ray Charles and Elton John "Here We Go Again", Ray Charles and Norah Jones "Something", Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton "Moon River", Stevie Wonder and Take 6 Best Pop Vocal Album Genius Loves Company, Ray Charles and Various Artists Feels Like Home, Norah Jones Afterglow, Sarah McLachlan Mind, Body & Soul, Joss Stone Brian Wilson Present Smile, Brian Wilson Best Solo Rock Vocal Performace "Wonderwall", Ryan Adams "The Revolution Starts Now", Steve Earle "Breathe", Melissa Etheridge "Code Of Silence", Bruce Springsteen "Metropolitan Glide", Tom Waits Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals "Monkey To Man", Elvis Costello and The Imposters "Take Me Out", Franz Ferdinand "American Idiot", Green Day "Somebody Told Me", The Killers "Vertigo", U2 Best Hard Rock Performance "Megalomaniac", Incubus "Some Kind Of Monster", Metallica "Feelin' Way Too Damn Good", Nickelback "Duality", Slipknot "Slither", Velvet Revolver Best Metal Performance "Nymphetamine", Cradle of Filth "Live For This", Hatebreed "The End of Heartache", Killswitch Engage "Whiplash", Motörhead "Vermilion", Slipknot Best Rock Album The Delivery Man, Elvis Costello and The Imposters American Idiot, Green Day The Reason, Hoobastank Hot Fuss, The Killers Contraband, Velvet Revolver Best Alternative Music Album Medulla, Björk Franz Ferdinand, Franz Ferdinand Uh Huh Her, PJ harvey Good News For People Who Love bad News, Modest Mouse A Ghost is Born, Wilco Best Female R&B Vocal Performance "I Want You", Janet Jackson "If I Ain't Got You", Alicia Keys "I'm Still In Love", Teena Marie "Whatever", Jill Scott "U-Haul", Angie Stone Best Male R&B Vocal Performance "Charlene", Anthony Hamilton "Happy People", R.
