Starbucks is the name of Captain Ahab's first mate in Moby Dick, and Ahab is an Arab name, (I think based on the song called Ahab the Arab). So the coffee shop seems to be named after an American underling of a famed Arab. But I think back in those days that first mates and captains of whaling ships all had to be Nantucket natives which would make them of British origin. And I never read Moby Dick so I don't really know about it.

I would love to see the US government come out with praise for this type of protest. Isn't this what we want rather than terrorism? Or will we only be satisfied by capitulation?
