If this were really a liberal media, wouldn't the headline have been:

From what I've read, torture usually produces whatever response the person being tortured believes will end the torture. Think of the "confessions" obtained during the witch trials in medieval Europe and colonial New England and the show trials in the Soviet Union. Which is why most civilized nations have abandoned the practice.
