Default Astros Outfield 2005

Can you predict the three starting outfielders on opening day for the Houston Astros?

3 correct - I bow down to you.
2 correct - You are an expert on the Houston Astros.
1 correct - Impressive nonetheless.
0 correct - You are hired as the new GM.

Even though I guessed the top 3, I don't really remember if any of the three besides Berkman are actually on the Astros squad right now - and if Berkman was even in the outfield last year.

Berkman's out a month from the basketball injury. Lane is looking to take advantange of his absence.

Biggio is staying in the outfield, since the 'Stros are banking on Burke (or Vizcaino) playing second. I think playing a young Burke will be better than putting an old Biggio back.

The spring training games have seen a lot of no-names trying their hand at playing the grass, and Astros fans probably don't like the looks of what they seen so far.

Of course, it's the terrible pitching to blame for those 21 runs handed to the Indians the other day.

Can you call the other? Perhaps Mike Lamb, who I forgot to add to the list.

It is possible he could be ready but I'm not holding my breath. He was injured playing quarterback of flag football for a Second Baptist team - a huge church in Houston.

Burke or Biggio and Burke is looking bad early. There is also the outside chance the Biggio doesn't start at either, but even if that happens I'm sure he would get a start for opening day.

I was hoping this thread would be about an announcement that they'd finally gotten rid of that stupid hill and pole.

Lane should get the starting gig when Berkman returns unless Lane isn't batting well.

I love Tal's Hill. I'd remove Crawford's Box, but chicks dig the long ball even when it really is just a pop fly.
