I just heard a woman on the phone with her travel agent. She's afraid of water and has anxiety attacks when getting near the deep end of the swimming pool, yet she thought it'd be a good idea to sign up for a deep-sea diving excursion on her upcoming trip. The travel agent is telling her that's not a good idea. If she's that afraid of water, what ever possessed her in the first place to even consider going deep-sea diving???

not really all that random, but I got a new credit card in the mail a few days ago that I did not apply for. It looks legit (well-known CC co), with a full 16 digit number and my name accross the bottom, as well as the sticker over it that says to call number X to activate. I am 99% sure that it's not an application but really the real thing.
Next to the credit card (on the letter it's stuck to) it says "if you do not want this credit card, call number N to cancel" (I can't remember in N = X). wtf? is this normal? |

surprisingly, no. It was from Citi, and I already have a card with them (which is why I was surprised to receive another card, since I didn't know you could have multiple cards from the same co - or so I was told by another co). I also know it's not a replacement for the card I have, since A. I just got that about a month ago and B. the name of the new one is different

I'd call Citi. It doesn't seem normal. When I got my second Visa (my original Visa changed their points program to a crappy one, so I applied for a better one to become my main card), it was an affinity card, but had the same bank of origin as the original card (also an affinity card). They did issue it, but were very particular about letting me know that they considered it almost the same as one account, would split the limit between the cards, etc.
This sounds like an error somewhere. |
