Default April 2005 Pre-test: questions and concerns...HELP

I am going to be sitting for the April 2005 pre-test....just a couple questions for those that have written the pre-test over the past year or so:

1) how the heck can you get through 60 questions in 2 hours!....doesn't that seem to be a lot (2 mins a question...like in the sample exam)

2) are there a lot of repeat q's from the sample exam?

3) will I have enough time to look up each and every question within the alotted time

any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated

Thanks

Amimal

Wondering similar things...

Did anyone else have trouble getting through the practice exam? I got spanked a little on that. I assume I should have gotten a pretty good score.

If you have a really good index and tabs and are familiar with the material, you should have no problems getting through all the questions. I looked each one up. If you still feel like you're slow, I recommend redoing the practice exam until you are faster.

See this thread: http://www.actuarialoutpost.com/actu...ad.php?t=44575

Otherwise, since this will be my first attempt, I guess I haven't much to say...

The SOA practice exam includes quite a few questions that are purportedly no longer in the required readings.............

What about #52, the Ockham's Razor question? Is that still on the syllabus? I think someone mentioned in a previous thread that it might be in Long Range Forecasting, but I still haven't found it.

I just feel like I'm rushing a bit to get through the 60 q's

so do we really need over 50 to pass????

as for q #52...still haven't found it either

does anyone have a list of the questions and answers on where to find em for the sample test?

I read the other thread and this discussion seems incomplete

Thanks

BTW was the Feb exam 40 or 60 q's?

I think I'm right there with you Amimal. I'm not feeling so confident about Friday.

I'm reasonably sure the specific reference has been dropped from the reading. However, you ought know this one based on basic education. William of Ockham, helluva guy. Went up against the pope, you know.

There are references to both "parsimony" and "Occam" in 7P-25-00, if that makes you feel either better or worse.

Default number of questions?

Are there 60 questions on Course 7 pre-test? With the distribution of probelms similar to the sampleSOA exam? In the Actex sample exam there were 76 questions - 24 T/F that were 1 point each...
