Kids were complaining about being bored. I suggested they make a pretend movie and film each other. Andrette said she was going to make a grown-up movie. I said, "What do you think is in a grown-up movie?". Her response: "Bottoms...and giraffes!".

Remarkably perceptive girl ...

My Brother was playing catch with a neighbor kid.

His daughter, my niece, who is ~4, exclaimed:

"Daddy! You're sporting!"

[and]

"Good job, Daddy! You won 15 sports!"

Not really. Just very reminiscent of this. (It's also the #1 result - not to mention #2-10 - when you Google "sportsing".)

Andrette (not 6yo yet!) has been inspired by her parents' (i.e., my and my wife's) wedding anniversary, which was yesterday. All of her pretend play for a few days, therefore, has been wedding-related.

She is having a playdate this afternoon with a friend of hers, and, as relayed by the other girl's mom, she just married Captain America. (Excellent choice, girl! How'd you convince him? I heard he has commitment issues...)

A quote from the wedding ceremony: "I was afraid to kiss him, until the love kicked in."

We have some out-of-province friends that are back visiting family here. When we get to Grandma's door, 3 year old Oliver comes running to give us the proper greeting for visitors: "Presents!!!! Presents!!!!"
