Don't know who to ask...since I'm in the US and can't call any canadian 800 numbers.
My aunt went to school in the early 90s. She got osap, graduated paid most of it back and had a portion forgiven by the powers that be. The main reason she got it forgiven was that she couldn't work in her chosen trade because she developed a disability that prevented her from performing her duties well, if at all. Anyway, a collection agency called her about it this week and wants that forgiveness back. Reason being is that they went through old tax records (presumably) and noticed she worked for 2 weeks before being let go because of the disability. She's stressed out about this, and doesn't know what to do. Anybody with any deep knowledge of OSAP that can give me any insight? |

I never dealt with OSAP myself, but you could try contacting the NSLC (contact info here includes an 800 # that says it's good through North America), and see what they have to say about the situation, or whether they can direct you to who to ask. They'd almost certainly have at least a direct number for OSAP offices, which you could call long distance, I should think.
