HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I just found out that I need a new air conditioner and furnace (both units were pretty old so I knew it was only a matter of time).
 Any suggestings?

Get a new one. I mean, brand-spanking new. They'll be a lot more efficient.
If you need an allergy-free one, then get it now. And make sure the filter is easy to get to and to replace/clean. Make sure the filter size is somewhat standard. I've got some unusual-sized filter, and I had to make my own with a template. For a two-story house, it might be more efficient either to have two units or to have a block-off switch for the first versus second floor. This is easier to do when building the house, though. Multiple thermostats would be nice as well, ones that are attached to the automated vents.

Try Home Depot or Lowe's or Sears.
Major manufacturers: Carrier, Rheem, Trane. Check the web sites of these mfr's. 1. Measure your current system. L, W, H. Measure the size of the platform it sits on (maybe you'll need a larger one than current, and maybe there's room for more). 2. Count the number of note the size of the ducts out the top. 3. Know the square footage of your home. 4. One-story or two (or three). 5. Dehumidifying/rehumidifying abilities needed? 6. Measure the size and available space of the compressor/decompressor -- that outside box thingy. Measure its distance as well. New A/C might need new hoses.
