Horry shot two airballs last night in a losing effort, does that go on his HOF application?
He shot 40% from 3 point land (2 of 5) which isnt too bad, much better than Ginobollis 2 for 8.

If you invest $1 and win millions that sounds like a good investment to me. The proof is in the pudding.

To get in the HOF, you have to be a dominant player for a good team. Reggie Miller shouldn't be penalized because he played most of his career in the era when Jordan was winning 6 championships. His Pacer teams were contenders most every year. RM was a dominant player and deserves to be in the HOF.
Reggie Miller's clutch player reputation will probably put him in, but he's very bordeline based on numbers alone. His "score" is equal to Tim Hardaway's, who I don't think of as a HOF player.

Interesting that Steve Nash appears well on pace to make the hall.

Nash won the MVP this year (deservedly?). I dont recall RM ever being close to a MVP. And RM never won a championship. RM is a loser. RH is a winner.

I don't recall ever mentioning Horry.

Becasue we are saying he is one of the greatest players ever, rather than just a pretty good role player

There are better players on Horry's current team, more likely to get in (Duncan?)

Like I aid earlier, there aren't that many players overall, currently in the HOF (129 in all)

Horry doesn't belong in that class.

Duncan has looked pretty soft at the end of the games.

Horry is a closer. You have to finish to be a great player.

Who has more championships? Does Duncan have more than Horry? Horry doesn't need Duncan. Duncan is not a closer. Duncan needs Horry. Horry doesn't need Shaq. Shaq is not a closer - they take him out in the 4th qtr because of his free throw shooting. How many titles did Hakeem win on teams without Horry? 0.

There are lots of great players - Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan - but in order for them to win championships they need a player like Horry who can finish.

Thats why Horry belongs in the Hall of Fame. 6 of 12. That's a fact, not a weak opinion or a "but" or all the hater's excuses you people offer up.

But Duncan has only been in the league 8 years, so 6 out of 12 was not possible for him. It's like apples and oranges.

Horry has been lucky to be a player that's gotten into tons of finals games and as a 3pt shooting specialist and gets to take open game winners while the defense double teams the good players on the court.

Funny that they don't list all the Bad Shot Bob moments like when he clanked his way out of Laker town missing wide open 3pointers.

Horry is a decent player...lucky to be in the right spot at the right time...who as a result has had tons of opportunities to take big 3pt. shots and making enough that people forget all of his many many misses.
Obviously he will never get in the HoF, but this is a bit too harsh. It's not just blind luck that Horry has ended up on all these great teams. Teams that are going to contend for the title pick him up because they know he is deadly in crunch time. I just read an article yesterday (can't find the link) that Shaq urged the Heat to pick him up last summer. A lot of good shooters (think Peja) just clam up and seem to miss everything in crunch time in the playoffs - Horry has hit more than his share so he fully deserves the hype he's been getting lately after his latest game-winner.

The Lakers didn't use him the right way the last couple years they had him. He is too old and has had too many injuries to play 30 min/game, so that was most likely the reason he shot poorly his last year there. Since the Spurs cut his minutes down to 15 min/game in the regular season, he is ready for the playoffs and playing like he is 26, not 34.

How many all-star games has Horry been in?

vs Duncan or others more worthy of HOF entry
