Default Fight Gas Prices!!!!!!

Disclaimer: I am just passing along a message someone sent to me, therefore don't shot the messenger.

In case you really want to know what they typed it goes a little like this:
IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES AND
CANADA DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.

THEREFORE SEPTEMBER 1st HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP
THEIR BEHIND " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THESE TWO NATIONS SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.

THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS TO AS
MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.

SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 1ST A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

It has also been calculated that if everyone who passed around this junk were soundly wedgied, the world would be a better place.

Yeah, whatever. Everyone change your buying patterns without changing your gas consumption! That'll really bring the prices down! Good luck with that.

Yeah, this will happen labor day weekend, right.

These things make me laugh. Yeah, we'll stick i to them!!! Anyone with half a brain would realize that all those errand you don't run on the 1st (groceries, what not) would be done on the 2nd....and that means that at the end of the day (er, week) you will end up consuming the same amount of gas...you'll just fill up on the 2nd instead. Or you will realize you are low, and fill up on the 31st.

The onloy true way to "stick it to them" is to start riding your bike (not motorcycle) and taking publc transportation.

This is making me laugh!!! I knew this post would bring some excitement to my boring work day.

This would be easier to pull off in NY, since we do have much more alternatives but I do agree that consumption will not change. (note my disclaimer)

depends how you define 'insanly'? Many current motorcycles get under 50 MPG. The 100 cc and 125 cc motorcycles of the 70 and early 80 got 70 or more MPG.
