OMG!! are you telling me that a republican disagreed with another republican?? And... did you notice... the washington TIMES was reporting it??

Me.. it sounds silly, but... I'd like more specifics on what DeLay thought he was saying. Maybe there is some substance to it, some hidden gem of financial responsibility. Or, maybe the people who are bad-mouthing him will lose their little pork projects NEXT year.

Possibilities. One may hope.

Either post an article with some substance, or expect people to pick apart what you do post.

YOu presented his statement as a matter of fact...if Delay said it must be true. You seem to admit above that there must be more to the story...why do you blame others for looking deeper into the article you posted?

When I clicked on the link, I see that the message of the article is NOT that there's no more fat, but that Delay made an baseless claim that his own colleagues quickly attacked.

Your initial characterization of this article was quite different.

Very well said, even though that I am amazed you even had to say it to begin with.

So wait, if there's no fat left in the budget, and we are in a deficit, does that mean taxes need to be raised?

It means tax revenue needs to increase -- via reduction in tax rates and oppressive regulations. Everyone understands this by now.

Yes, at least from my perspective, but give it time, more may develop...

Yeah Loner, don't you know anything? It'll all eventually trickle down.

Pesonally I'm still waiting for the Reagan drops to trickle in an pay off his massive debt but I'm sure that will be any day now. Maybe about the same time we actually bring the troops home from Iraq?
