Just curious about this. For purposes of this question I'm not interested in the fanciness level, just whether it's prepared by someone outside the household. So "Burger Barn" = "Olive Garden" = "L'Idiot".

I picked 3 as my best guess, but I think it's relevant that we have no children at home. When we had our children it was more like 1.
BTW, I love eating at "I'diot," but they only let me have the chicken! |

Once in awhile I bring home a pizza. We go out to dinner with friends maybe once every 4 to 6 weeks. But it rounds to less than once a week.
If I get to missing other folks cooking, I just go out to lunch. Most of the restaurants and fast food around here are much closer to my workplace than my home. |

I think it rounds out to twice a week. The wife and I usually try to get out on a date away from the kids once a week, and there will usually be a night neither of us feel like cooking.

(12+ times if you include lunches, 6 dinner, 6 lunch)
We eat out when we wait to 8 to eat. We eat at home when we wait until 10. |
