How many papers nationwide carry Funky never mind Crankshaft? Though I've kind of always liked them both.

And I bet most people on this forum don't have any idea of the connection between Beetle and Lois.

Yeah, there just aren't any good comic strip spin-offs anymore. How about one starring Asok? Or perhaps Rose's bad-ass biker persona?
