I have a test in 3 weeks and even after my test I'll probably only have time to play a couple of these after that anyways. My plan is to pick up Zelda and Elder Scrolls right away and wait for price drops on uncharted and batman. Sadly I'm not sure if I'll have time for Dark Souls. This is a stupid complaint but there are too many good games coming out too quickly.
I'm picking up Uncharted 3 because I love that series and need to play it. After that, i'll probably get Zelda, just because those games never go on sale. I'll probably borrow Batman from my brother (yay for freebies!). So the game that will wait until there's a sale (for me) is probably Assassins Creed Revelations.

There are other games I want to play. I think a Mario is coming out for 3DS...I'd probably give Skyrim a shot. But these will probably all slip out of my radar, as 2012 starts off with a bang, with ME3 and FFXIII-2 coming out early in the year.

They've been advertising Catwoman stuff all this time promoting the game at trade shows and whatnot. Then like a week before the release of the game, they announce her content is going to be part of their "anti-trade-in" hook.

It was left off the disk so it's a download, and a "free code" is included with new copies. If you buy it used and/or don't have a copy, it's $10 to download. I understand that for most people it won't be an issue (as they'll buy it new), but knowing they purposefully left something off the disk is kinda slimy imo.

They also cut a deal with Gamestop to allow them to include new codes for the content in their used game sales. Gamestop already charges ridiculous amounts for used games...I bet this game used will be $55+ for awhile, yet I'm sure they'll give lower-than-usual on trade in for the game because of the download code.

Dude...Dark Souls before Zelda and Skyrim. Come on, it's not even close.

Woah, Dark Souls is for 360? I never played Demon Souls as I don't own a PS3; will Dark Souls be accessible for a noob?

Yeah, it's multiplatform. It's accessible, but you have to be prepared to die a lot, probably get really frustrated at times, and then feel like a champ when you finally overcome the challenge. There aren't a lot of checkpoints, so you'll spend a lot of time running through the same section over and over again until you master it. It's like a NES game in that regard.

Dark Souls is easily game of the year for me.

What causes a lot of the dieing? Just curious because I really don't like games that require exact timing in order to survive.

Example would be Bayonetta where you have to press dodge or some button in about a 10th of a second window in order not take damage...I know what I have to do but consistently being able to get the game to do it was hard.

Parrying is the only thing that requires strict timing, and you could get through the game without ever doing it. It works just like it does in most games, where you parry the attack at the last second and then it leaves the enemy open for a strong counterattack. Combat is also much, much slower than Bayonetta.

I'd say 90% of my deaths are due to being impatient/careless. 2-3 normal enemies can easily kill you if you're not careful. The other 10% is due to learning the fights.

Awesome...I'll pick up the game at sometime. Just not sure where it will fit into the other games I'll be playing for a while. (Only 2 months till SW:OR!)

It's shockingly quiet close to the release of this game. I'm starting to think this is going to be a huge disappointment.

vgchartz says they have about 700k pre-orders right now...which is pretty good for a PC game.
