Exclamation Moving server - Calling all members!!!!!

Hey guys 'n gals, I'm moving the server. There are two basic ways to do this

1) I turn off this forum, move the database, restore it, then point the domain name (actuarialoutpost.com and actuary.ca) to the new server and then you can post again when you see the forum is back up (total time between 2-5 hours)

or

2) I backup the database, move it over to the new server, and then restore it. I would leave the board running on the old server (the one you're lookin at now), and any posts made while a message at the top of the board says "Site under maintenance, no new posts will be saved while this message is on" will not be saved and will be lost when the domains are pointed at the new server. We could have a fare well party for the old server, and post away for a few hours, knowing it's all for nothing. (total time . . . . about the same unless something blows up)

Please make your decision in the poll, and I will begin accordingly after I get in touch with Glenn. I will put a message at the top of the forum so you will know when I will start. If I get in touch with him tonight with in the next 2 hours or so, I'll start tonight, otherwise I'll be doing it tomorrow evening at about the same time.

lost posts suck. What's the point in posting? Anything you're looking for legitimate commentary on will be lost. So the sum total of posting during that time will be drivel. Either meaningless in content or designed to see how much you can get away with in a temporary environment.
