Thank you all.

AD: Well, it's not just soccer ... it's me playing soccer to lose weight!

... I know, just trying to make it more relevant.

ST: I love it. I'm still tired as all hell and don't have a whole lot of stamina, but a lot more than before. And yeah, I couldn't help it - I haven't weighed in since Monday, and even then, I was always a little skeptical of my non-digital scale.

Spock: lya

I don't know if I'll ever get down to "twig" size, though. Like you.

Busy this entire weekend moving places. In terms of exercise, I think we downgraded. We moved to another hill, but the area is a little more sketchy, once you get far enough away from the hill. We used to be right around the Waikiki & University of Manoa area, so walking with the dog wasn't so much of a problem. The hill now is more quiet and less lights, but it could be that I'm just a little less familiar with the area. It has been known to be a little bit ... seedier. We'll see, though. I'm planning on walking around with my dog and exploring the area, though - he's gotta get out and get some energy spent.

On the flip side, I ate like absolute crap this weekend - I don't think I've eaten this bad in over a year, and that includes a trip to Vegas and a trip to DC for an actuarial meeting. I didn't step on a scale this weekend, and to be honest, I don't think I want to. I'll just be looking to work it off a bit this weekend (run a bit, walk the dog and play soccer twice this week), but I also have to get serious with studying.

Stay tuned for more.

The eating hasn't improved all that much, but definitely more fruits, vegetables and yogurt this weekend. (With fried rice, eggs, bacon and hash browns on Sunday morning.)

Finally got to jump on a scale this morning - the only one I have access to is the one at my parents place. Ended up at 176.5. Naturally, all the crappy eating probably did me in, but I'm thankful I hadn't ballooned up to 180. Played soccer on both Thursday and Saturday, but did not get my long run in on Sunday. Not sure if I'm going to be able to - I really need to start getting cracking on my studying. The entire weekend, I got maybe one hour done.

Ah well. Here's hoping the study season doesn't screw me too much.

3/30/09 weigh-in: 172.5

I'm just jumping up and down all over the place. I expect to probably get up near 180 in the next few weeks up until May 1st. Buckling down for studying isn't great for studying (I don't know how you do it, ST), but I've gotta get it done.

5/4/2009: 177

I have no excuses anymore - Exam AFE is done, and I'm not planning to take an exam in the Fall. No late night eating, no sleepless nights (not for studying, anyway) - time to get that exercise in and eating a lot better.

My diet and exercise habits really fell by the wayside in the lead up to the exam. Studied for about 80-85 hours in the week and a half prior to the exam, plus having to work almost a full time job - that was hard. I did manage to play soccer last Saturday, so that was fun.

Just gotta get back out there and start getting active again. Got kickball practice tonight (lol, I know, kickball? Yeah, I'm on a team in an organized league. Our team's not organized, but we're getting there.), and planning to run with the dog as much as possible this week - he deserves it.

Possible goals for 2009: in Hawaii, we have a marathon readiness series, where there are about 5 races leading up to the Honolulu Marathon in early December.

Here's the calendar (if I'm not mistaken):

8/16/2009: 15K
9/6/2009: 20K
9/26/2009: 25K
10/25/2009: 30K
11/8/2009: 1/2 marathon
12/6/2009: Honolulu Marathon

There's a slim chance I might be ready for the marathon this year, but my primary plan is to run that 1/2 marathon in November.

Evidently, lack of motivation has become my excuse.

I'm not certain of it, but I'm pretty sure I'm up over 180 for the first time in a long time.

Too much good eating, etc. and not enough exercise since the exam. I've gotta stop making excuses.

I'm not actually planning to run all of it - the plan right now is to run two of them: the 15K in August and the half-marathon in November. I don't think I'll be ready for the Marathon in December.
