That's what the medicine I was given was.
I hate needles too, but gout isn't something you want to mess with too much imo. Just sack up and take the pain.

No gout pains but definitely Thanksgiving overeating. Knee acted up again over the weekend, but I'm starting to suspect that part of it is related to gout, or that it's not helping much.

Went to the gym yesterday, and for the first time, focused on something other than cardio. Did the elliptical ... or I think that's what the machine was. Also did leg lifts where the focus was on the last 30 degrees before straightening out my leg, which is what the PCP recommended I work on. His theory is that it's physical more than chemical (i.e., gout). So far, knee's workable, but sore.

I also had a weigh-in that was 187.2 this morning, but I call bunk on it. I've gotta find a more dependable scale. Might try using the manual scale @ the gym.

That's it. I've gotta work with a more dependable scale. I'll probably opt for the gym.

Have been eating better, though, but haven't been @ the gym since Monday. Finally looking forward to sweating a bit after work tonight.

If you have gout, why not just cut meat out of your diet?

It's not only meat that causes it.

But I have been trying to stay away from most rich meats - beef & pork in particular. And basically trying to flood myself with water - rather than try to stave off build up of uric acid due to the foods I eat with purines by completely abstaining, I'm trying to balance by keeping up with drinking water - if there's anything semi-useful that the scale I'm using is telling me, is that my water level is perpetually low (around 50-55% of body weight). So, that can't be helping my cause.

It's probably a different method of dealing with things too. For me, I would just cut things out completely to see if that works and then work them back into my diet to see how much is too much.

Maybe try only fish for a while? The water thing sounds like it will have to continue though.
