Default Dozens Dead After Egyptian Ship Disaster

Quote:
CAIRO, Egypt - An Egyptian passenger ferry carrying around 1,300 people, mostly Egyptian workers returning from Saudi Arabia, sank in the Red Sea overnight. Coast Guard vessels pulled dozens of bodies from the water Friday and rescued 100 survivors from lifeboats, officials said.
Sad.

Now to make it political:

Quote:
British naval officials ordered a warship heading to the scene to abandon its rescue efforts, a defense spokesman said in London, declining to explain why.
WTF?

Default Egypt appears to have declined Israeli aid, too.

Nothing worse than helpful Jooz or Brits.

Why dont' they want help. Are they afraid we will find WMD's in the wreckage. Were those dogs working for terrorists? Good catch on this one 2pac. I think you are really on to something. You goal of global mistrust and hatred for all moooslims is one step closer to completion.

Maybe because when Israel offered to help, Egypt said no. God forbid a Jew should save the life of an arab. England just felt that if Israel can't help, neither can we.

That'd be a crappy move on the part of Egypt's gummint.

The sotry has been updated:
Quote:
Rescue efforts appeared confused. Egyptian officials initially turned down a British offer to divert a warship to the scene to help out and a U.S. offer to send a P3-Orion maritime naval patrol aircraft to the area. The British craft, HMS Bulwark, headed toward from the southern Red Sea where it was operating, then turned around when the offer was rejected.

But then Egypt reversed itself and asked for both the Orion and the Bulwark to be sent, said Cdr. Jeff Breslau, a spokesman for the U.S. 5th Fleet, based in Bahrain.
