Is Meredith a good choice to replace Katie Couric in the Today Show?

Poll coming.

OK, I guess. Similar to Katie, but not quite as chirpy, which is a good thing. Not that I watch Today enough to really care.

She has years of experience on 60 minutes (years ago), and should be good.

Perhaps she would have been a better choice than Katie for the big CBS job (though there could be some bad blood there; my understanding is that she was fired from 60 min when she expressed a desire to cut back on her hours a bit back then, as she had young children, and perhaps her husband had been diagnosed with MS already by then also).

I'm surprised that they are replacing Katie with an older woman. In the past, when a woman got old(like 40ish), she was replaced by a younger one. That's kinda what happened to Jane Pauley.

They should get Kelly Ripa to replace her but have her in a non-speaking role. I'd tune in.

I guess they could have given the spot to Camby.

My guess is that she'll be a hard nyews anchor in the fairly near future.

After her relative Jack gets through with her, she won't be doing much speaking.
