Jake thinks he's the only one without a cell phone. Are you kidding me? At least get into the 90's. We haven't had a land line in several years (although where we live is admittedly ahead of US cell technology - the US is pretty much behind everybody else in the industrialized world on cell).

They are too exspensive here.. I paid $400 for my land line..sure hope I can sell it.. grr

One general land line that gets almost all our phone traffic. One extra line for the internet. If the wireless broadband thing works out, we'll drop the second line. If not we'll keep it. No DSL or cable out here.

The only reason we're so behind in cell is that we're so ahead (100 years in most cases) in land. Being ahead in land means that the cost is still cheaper than cell in most places.
Cell allows the rest of the world to catch up with us, big-picture-communication-wise. |
