While neither Mr. Burns nor Mr. Khan disclosed the number of jets in the revised package, which would now include old as well as new aircraft, the Pakistani Cabinet earlier this month cleared the purchase of up to 77 F-16s from the U.S. Asked how many jets Pakistan sought, Mr. Khan said, “So what numbers we may have started with, I even don't know that and I have a rough idea as to what we have requested now.”
Yep, to achieve lasting peace and spread democray, there's nothing quite like selling jet fighters to Islamic nations. It's best to pick ones that sell nuclear bomb technology.

Does our foreign policy have any theme to it at all?

This is just a little offering so they can still appear to help us on the war on terror, while modernizing their airforce. Besides, what are we going to do with 77 old jets?

So we send out young men and women to die, in the name of DISARMING Iraq, which does not have the Bomb.

Then we send sophisticated weaponry to Pakistan, which does have WMD.

This Bush guy sure is full of surprises. Quite the little prankster.

I'm confused. First you complain about selling fighter jets to Pakistan. Then you bring up very old news about the CLewinskyton Admin selling nuclear secrets to China in exchange for donations to his party, his library, etc. Chose one topic and stick to it in a particular thread!

Disarming? That's not the full set of reasons for overthrowing a brutal dictator. Please review any of my prior discussions about the 17 UN resolutions against Sadaam Hussein and the Baathist party, due to numerous cease fire agreement violations over the 12 years between Gulf War I and GW Ia. Then, reflect on the Oil For Food Scandal. Come back when you've gotten up to speed on the real reasons for allowing the Iraqi people to set their own destiny.... And, please don't bring up WMD again, b/c it makes you look like you're unable, or too stoned, to pay attention to intelligent discussion and debate.

Someone should have told Bush that.

Typical conservative blabber. Holds to the two basic tenets of Bush-speak.

1] When confronted with an uncomfortable truth, change the topic.

2] Be obtuse. Make sure no one can make any sense of what you are saying. That way, they can't respond and you'll never get caught lying.

And meanwhile, more Americans die. More weapons shipped to the unreliable.

Riscalculator excels at both of these. Especially #2.
