Default And what about Venezuela?

With all the turmoil down there, where are the Paddycrats to tell us what our TV's don't [as in how this is America's fault]?

Since they all have brown skin, it's too hard for us to tell who the bad guys are.

Enlightened posts like the two above might give a clue as to why the SOA might not be interested in even linking to this site. (Of course I realize that there are many other posts with even more offensive content than those above...)

Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather have both covered the strikes and their affects and purpose to politics in Venezuela. This is unlike the omission of UN deaths by Israeli military. If you are unaware, I could point you to some good reading concerning Venezuela.

1. Zee: Guitarwolf was trying to say that I (and others) blame America for acting differently in our foreign policy depending on the color of their skin. He was trying to point out the absurdity of this position showing that there is plenty of political conflict and violence among the moneyed establishment and popular movements even when race isnt a factor. I think this is what he's trying to say, but I dont think he was just making an ad hoc joke about the darkies. I dont think the SOA should have a problem with his statement. Beavis' one went over my head so I cant speak to that.

2. TDA: I personally think that Chavez needs to be stopped, that Venezuala's best interests would be served if they reverted to OPEC loyalists and they should use this opportunity to extort cash from the oil interests in exchange for some type of guarantee against future appropriation of their property. I think the US govt should serve as a bully-pulpit for liberal trade and democratic values and should demand that Chavez get in line. I think the US should refrain from any future kidnapping/assassination attempts of democratically elected leaders. This seems to be the current US policy, and it is the correct one. I think it is also important that Ashcroft appoint an independent council and that the evidence and the decision on how to uphold American law wrt civil control of our military and war-making should be put in the hands of a grand jury. I think capital punishment should be considered in this case if we find that American civil servants played a principle role in the earlier coup-plot against Chavez.

Just because you're an actuary doesn't mean you have to be a robot

Thanks Paddy. My comment was SO absurd that I'm surprised an explanantion was even necessary. It was something I appropriated from The Onion anyway.

In reality, the situation in Venezula isn't that difficult. Those with the Spanish-European blood are lighter than those with indigenous heritage. {joke btw!}

Okay, the regulars here apparently didn't need an explanation for your comment, and did indeed recognize it for what it was. But for the more infrequent visitor, it wasn't that clear. Now imagine the visitor that gets here via an SOA link. First thing they stumble across is this thread. When I checked in today, there were only 3 messages, 2 w/questionable comments. One could get a poor first impression. That's all I was saying.

Also, Beavis' comment is SO absurd, yet I can't imagine an explanation that will support it. Anybody got one? Is it from the Onion too?

Finally, sorry TDA, I'm done hijacking your thread.
