Default exam related problems

I am currently learning interest theory by first going over the Actex notes and then digging deaper through kellison on the appropriate chapters as outlined in the Actex units. I have followed this by doing the review questions at the end of each unit in the Actex manual.

I read in an earlier post by Baba Gambler that the end of chapter questions arent very effective to prepare for the exam related questions. I would like to know where else should I be turning towards, to get a better handle on exam related questions which are more chapter (kellison) and Actex unit linked. I think I am not ready for the Actex problem sets yet, as those questions are more spread out across the various units and not unit/ chapter related.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Use the CSm manual which you can purchase from the www.actuarialbookstore.com

This manual gives chapter outlines and lots of practice exam questions specific to each subject and each chapter.

IMHO, there is nothing better than the Batten questions for IT. They include every IT EXAM question asked back to the early or mid 80's. He has over 500 on the 8 chapters of Kellison. Solving the actual questions posed on the past 20 years of exams is most probably the best representation of what the next test will offer.

You can only get them if you take one of his seminars though.

I did the same as you. I went through the chapters in Kellison, then I followed up with the outlines and questions in Actex. Now that I have the overview I should be able to do the questions in the back of the Actex manual, which are from past exams.

Good Luck!

I found the actex HORRIBLE for TOI. The text isn't too bad (used it in school), but I used CSM for course 2. I thought it was well worth it, and it had lots of exam-type questions. I thought the ones in the actex were rather simple, and would not have prepared me very well. This is just my opinion, though.
