Default Study time for Module 3 and 4

Can someone please advise me if Module 3 and Module 4 have as much reading as Module 2. I started on Module 1 last week, and managed to finish it without much sleep, I am pretty stressed right now! I am now at Module 2 which has so much reading that it's unbelievable! Help!

As i have no access to Modules 3 and 4 now, can anyone advise me if I should step up my pace of reading Module 2 ( that seems to take forever)?

Thanks!

Default August 22 exam?

If you are trying to take the August 22 exam, I would say you better step up your reading, VERY CONSIDERABLY. Unless you plan on skimming.

Module 3 and 4 have less reading but they both have around 400-600 pages/screens to read.

Module 2 is a bear. Module 3 from first glance looks better, but there is a ton of book readings. I should be finishing section 4 today and hopefully the exercise by Saturday. Good luck!

Default Shooting for the stars!

Yes, I am trying to shoot for the August 22 exam. I am/will be putting in about 50 hours a week on each modules, but was afraid that SOA's estimation of 30-50 hours per module was incorrect.
Thanks! Wish me luck!

First, just a reminder that you have to finish the 5th module by August 7th, a few weeks before the test. So you have a month and a lot of reading.

The second module is huge, but it's readings are rather repetitive. To save time, I would recommend to skim a lot of it. The concepts are pretty easy to pick up in this module so if you need to shave off time, this module is probably the one to do it to.

The third and fourth are shorter, but are also less repetitive and a little more complex. Not sure about your background, but three was easy for me because it overlapped with Course 6, which I just took. Don't really remember what module 4 was about, so I would say it's average. I think module 4 was a lot of course 5 material (not sure, never took 5), so it will help if you've taken 5.

I just started the last module and it looks pretty big again. There is a lot of readings from the text, so it may take a while.

In order to manage your time, you may want to skip to the end of module exercise and do them first so you can move onto the next. The readings help, but you can usually do the exercise before (would not recommend this normally, but you're in a rush and it may help). Then you can see what you have left and pace yourself appropriately. You basically have 4 modules to go in 4 weeks...1 a week will be tough, but not impossible. I think I did most of the modules in 2 or 3 weeks a piece, but didn't rush too much. I think it can be done, but you probably won't be doing much else. Good luck.

3 and 4 are a fair amount shorter than 2 was, I would still say longer than the society's estimate but I'm a slow reader. Haven't quite gotten to 5, on section 7 of module 4.
