More specifically, what are the best skills to have for an entry level job seeker? I am guessing that Excel and Access are at the top of the list. What are some others?

It would be nice to know some VBA (Visual Basic for Excel). A little bit of VBA knowledge can allow you to do a lot more with Excel.

Depending on entry to what kind of actuarial position.
Insurance company? For sure Excel and some Acess/Foxpro, and maybe some VBA Consulting? Excel and Powerpoint are key. But other than some basic Excel, I think the rest you can just learn as you go. |

Excel, Acces, Excel, VBA, Excel, and a statistical package like SAS are all good. And, did I mention Excel?
