Surprisingly, Wal-mart has started selling textbooks on its web site. All the Course 2 and 3 books are listed, but some are not currently available. Most appear to be priced somewhat higher than traditional actuarial sources.

They are reaching a different market and are not specializing in actuarial books. I would be willing to wager that 99% of those buying books at Wal-mart.com have no idea about the actuarial book sources.
The customer may see the book and decide they want it, or the book needed for a college course and may be cheaper than at the college bookstore. |
