Hello,

I've dusted out a small summary I made.

Content:

Various Loss ratios,
Exposure Bases Characteristics
Variances
Adverse Selection / Skimming the Cream

Complements of credibility table.

(It's based on the 2009 syllabus)

Enjoy, and study hard!!

Hey everyone,

I've attached my notes for the memorization portions of CAS 5. The notes are based off of the 2010 syllabus (the first syllabus to use the Werner and Modlin mega-text). For the 2011 exam and forward, these notes will be useful for new module 1 (aka 'course' 1), and the ratemaking portion of new 5. I'm sure there are typos throughout, but studying this list of lists was probably the number one factor leading to exam success for me. For some of the more important items, I've provided an acronym/mnemonic to aid studying. All told, there are 180 lists on here. Some are pretty important (the six steps in the risk management process), while others are probably overkill (the seventeen HO-3 Section I conditions), but I tried to be as thorough as possible when I created this table. Hopefully this helps someone, even if you only need to watch some youtube videos for the new module!

Sorry for the typos, but I never got a chance to proofread.
Donations welcome.
Thank you Buffalo P Hunter! Because of your notes and the ratemaking text being free, I didn't have to pay for study materials at all (neither did my employer).

Tom: any comments about the new Forum structure post CAS transistion? More specifically, will the current "CAS 5" and/or "CAS 6" forums be merged and/or retained and just new forums created for the "New CAS 5" et al.?

I ask so that I can place my notes in an appropriate place.

TIA!
