Question Another FSA requirements question...

Hi all,

I have 1,2,3,C+VEE Stat,5,6. I'm taking 7 and 8V in Nov and Dec. Say I pass both the seminar and the exam, what are my options to attain FSA? I'm not sure I still have time to satisfy PD requirements. Under the new system, would I have to take 2 exams - CSP and BSM?

Thanks!

That looks correct, but SBM is not really an exam.

Course 7 would give you credit for SBM module so you would only need to take the CSP exam or get PD by June. I'm in the same position, but I opted not to take 8 this fall. I get results for 7 on Friday. If I passed I will only need CSP, DP and FAC to get FSA. Man, that's a lot of initials!

Where does it say that Course 7 would give me credit for SBM? I looked at the Conversion Rules (from 2005), and it says that Course 7 is equivalent to FAP Modules 6 through 8, second FAP exam, and FSA capstone module. I know the SOA had a new Education Redesign Webcast last month - did they change the conversion rules then?

Also, am I missing something or is the CSP syllabus very similar to course 8's?

FSA Capstone Module = SBM.

And for the CSP syllabi - some are, some aren't. G/M/V aren't, I/R/F are (that's what it sounded like).

Wat is right about the capstone module and SBM being the same thing. However, I'm pretty sure that the [Group] and [Managed Care] tracks are being merged into a single track [Group and Managed Care]. At least that's what the slide showing all the different tracks showed. And the Finance & ERM tracks are also being merged into one.
