Hi, can anyone tell me if you get instant results if you take the CPCU 540 exam at a prometric center?

Normally you definitely would get an instant pass/fail. I think I read that when they made some changes to 540 at the start of 2011, that the first window (January-March) would NOT be instant results. I took it in December and got an instant pass, so I can't confirm the January-March part. I am 99% sure that at this point it should be instant results going forward, but maybe someone around here took it in June and can verify?

I apologize if this question has been asked before. What document we need to submit to SOA for getting the credit? I have only an email or the CPCU site with the grade information but VEE credit PDF says that we need an official transcript.

I went over the first 5 chapters in the review manual today, as well as the first 12 chapters of flash cards. I knew what almost every flash card was, so I think I'll be focusing more of my time on the intricacies and mathematically-intensive parts of this exam. I did have 2 semester of accounts and 4 semesters of finance in college, so hopefully some of that eases the pain of studying. I'm averaging 70% (20% 2nd attempt) on the iPhone app. I plan on taking the practice exam on Monday, and the actual exam the Monday after that.

Congrats!

Was the exam difficult or easy for you? So you only went over the review book, flash cards, and the iPhone app?

I mainly used the iphone app and review notes. I was actually surprised how different the actual test was from the practice test. My knowledge of FM fundamentals probably saved me.

Just got my grade report today and it put me in the 70-79 range, which is about what I expected. Getting a C in corporate finance at a center of actuarial excellence is worthless, but getting a C on some cut-rate exam with questionable phrasing and grammar counts as complete fulfillment. God bless the SOA.

A 70-79 was all I was shooting for. I just want to keep passing all these requirements. I cared about scores in college, but this game of just passing is more and less stressful in different respects.

Took this exam yesterday and got the pass. Don't have my grade slip back yet, but I expect that I did fairly well.

Studied for 15 hours or so, only used the course guide and online SMART course. Basically if you can answer the questions in the SMART practice exams you can common sense any of the questions on the test. And any problem that involves numbers, as mentioned previously, is basically free points.
