Anyone know about co-op program in Concordia?
I am considering transfer to Concordia since I realize job experience is essential when I look for entry job. I thought about Waterloo and contacted program coordianator but seemed really tough to get in as a foreign student. If anyone attends Concordia or knows something about, pls comment. |

The program isn't really that good. They forward employer's job postings and that's about it. It just gives you an opportunity to work as an intern and keeping your full-time student status.
I have heard of other better programs. For example, I was told that the people at UDM actually tries hard to get you a job. |

Although Northeastern University's actuarial science program isn't as strong as other schools, their co-op program is one of the best in the country. 99% of students receive co-op jobs at places such as Aviva USA, MetLife, Fidelity Investments, John Hancock...
I would suggest anyone pursuing a career as an actuary complete at least on co-op or internship somewhere. It's a great way to make sure this is something you really want to do, and it looks great on resumes. |
