I was thinking 'define religion'.

There's no dogma, no traditions, no heirarchy, no temples or churches, no structure, no standard philosophy, no agreement on what the term atheist even means sometimes. No nothing, really.
Sounds a lot like the Wiccan religion. Or non-religion if you insist.

For most purposes, theism is considered to be a religion.

Not necessarily.

Yeah, all those Pro-Golfers work hard to keep tennis out of our public schools.

Most theists are indeed religious, but theism is most certainly not a religion, nor have I seen anyone consider it to be one except for you.

So there should be no legal issues with a public school teacher teaching that a god or gods exist as long as the teacher makes no further claims about that god or gods?

Is a public school teacher's opinion important to determine whether theism is a religion?

The public school teacher's opinion has nothing to do with it.

There should be every legal issue. A public school teacher has no business teaching anything one way or the other about a god's existence. This is pretty simple separation of church and state.

Atheists may have an ulterior motive for trying to get religion out of the schools. But a Christian who claims to honor our Constitution probably has ulterior motives for not trying to get religion out of public schools. My point is, any fan of the Constitution, regardless of religion, should be against religion being taught by a government-run entity. Therefore your argument to the golf analogy is faulty.

Tell that to BBB. He's the one who doesn't understand that theism is usually considered to be a religion.
