Just wondering, is anyone out there using the Average PMPM Lag method for calculating IBNR, as opposed to the traditional approaches (completion factor, development, BF)?  If you are not familiar with the methodology, there is a YouTube video on it.

I find the Average PMPM Lag method interesting because it offers a different way to approach IBNR calculations than completion factors, development methods, or BF. I’d be interested in hearing from anyone who has used it in practice and can share how the results compare with more traditional approaches. The idea of testing different methods reminds me of Slope Rider, where adapting your approach can make a big difference.
