Anyone else finding it extremely frustrating with the openings for sittings? The closest location for me to take this exam is over 4 hours away with one date and one time. This is absolute nonsense. So close to calling it quits with the incompetency the CAS has demonstrated recently. Any suggestions for sitting?

Same with me. Unable to find any spots, will be requesting CAS to open another week for exams

This happened to me last time and I just kept trying. The one caveat being that I signed up on the first day registration was open.

Can’t find anything in NYC.  Not very reassuring.

This is ridiculous. It gave me 30 testing centers as options and there is not 1 single time available for Exam 6.

Same here, no availability for the 10 nearest location to where I live.

Finally found 1 opening in DC and I live in Philly. Pretty sweet.

COVID or not I don’t see how this is a sustainable process. I suppose the testing centers are operating at a lower capacity but if there are X number of openings and X + 100 candidates in a certain area what do they expect us all to do?

Yeah this is a bit ridiculous and likely to get worse once 7 and 9 results come out.  Unless magically a bunch of spots open up when people start changing whatever exam they originally registered for.

Unfortunately we are competing with other organizations as well.  In theory if the CAS extends the window to make room for us all to take the exam, will that extend the grading process?  Just puts us back in the same position as this sitting and shortens the study window for the fall.

Seems to me the biggest mistake is to jam all the exams in to the same week. I understand why they don’t want a 3-4 week window for the same exam but how about splitting them up? Something like:

                      Exam 5 and 6 – 4/26 – 5/1
                      Exam 7 and 8 – 5/3 – 5/8
                      MAS Exams and Exam 9 – 5/10 – 5/15

Seems logical to me.  Sadly, logic and the CAS don’t seem to go hand in hand.

I emailed the CAS today and received a response.  They are keeping track of candidates who are unable to get a space.  You can add yourself to the list by emailing ACS@casact.org.  I am not sure what will come of it, but surely they will need to make some accommodations.  In addition to this list, I was also advised to look outside of my local area.  Not that I have any intentions of crossing multiple state lines for this exam, but for fun I looked in the entire Northeast and was not able to find anything.  Florida did have some openings though!

I agree with bully , I think that’s a good idea of administering exams

The closest slot I have is a 6 hour drive. Is everyone just signing up for a slot and hopefully wait for slots to open up when people are asking for refunds?

I have not registered for the exam yet, I hadn’t realized there was an issue with availability.
Thats insane that there is no availability in the whole NE.

As part of my latest morning routine, I looked on Pearson for spots just now and I was able to find something in NYC (a few locations had openings).  Either they opened more spots up, or as of yesterday a lot of people cancelled their registration.  Either way, keep looking I guess and hope for the best!

Thanks residualagent! I just went on and was able to get a spot much closer to me. Still going to keep checking to hopefully get the closest option but this is a big improvement.
