I’m considering going back to school for actuarial science and becoming an actuary. I’ve done the research and there are several reputable online programs for actuarial science. My current career involves a lot of travel which would keep me from attending classes in person. Would an online degree in Actuarial Science adequately prepare me for exams?  Could it somehow hold me back from good job opportunities, if I made sure to apply for internships prior to graduating? For reference I am 40 years old and reside in the Chicago area.
