The issue of you not being able to figure out the solution is not by accident. Nothing the CAS done is without careful deliberation and intent. That was precisely one of their objectives, to raise the barrier to entry while using CBT as a cover to implement their plan. Talk about subtle and sneaky. They get an A for always finding new ways to delay credentials.
January 5, 2021 at 11:15 pm #1795- Well, at least it’s nice of them to let us know they’re starting to write exam questions.
January 9, 2021 at 2:59 am #1909Anyone registered at Pearson successfully? Can’t find any availability nearby.
January 9, 2021 at 4:23 am #1910I’m waiting to see if I failed before registering. What you described is what I experienced for the Fall sitting. It took me a few hours to find a location close by. The best you can do is keep looking. Due to COVID, capacity is limited so there’s no guarantees you’ll find a center in your area.
January 10, 2021 at 9:34 pm #1962Thanks. I will just wait a few weeks and try again.
January 10, 2021 at 9:35 pm #1963How to study for BKM? I’m planning to get the CC/RF combo and use the source material, just realized BKM is not available online. Is there somewhere to purchase just the material on the syllabus?
January 10, 2021 at 11:01 pm #1964It’s up to you but BKM carries around 35% weight on the syllabus so you may want to get the text.
January 11, 2021 at 12:27 am #1965You can download bkm for 17$ right now
January 11, 2021 at 2:07 am #1971The CAS asks really hard questions on BKM.
January 11, 2021 at 3:27 am #1972I agree. The material is so straightforward and they go out of their way to twist things to the point where the questions are often defective.
January 11, 2021 at 3:20 pm #1986<p style=”text-align: left;”>Does anyone have inside info on timing for the 2021 Study Kits? The 2020 SKs are still popping up on the CAS website.</p>
January 11, 2021 at 4:05 pm #1990The syllabus hasn’t changed so there should be no difference between 2020 and 2021.
January 11, 2021 at 5:19 pm #1993This is awesome (regarding the $17 text book)! Thanks for the link!
Edit: Odd, I have an edit option here, but I don’t see any edit option in the exam release date thread.
January 22, 2021 at 1:07 am #2554My colleague recommended ActuaryFellow and Fox joint study manual, it has almost everything: chapter summary, past exams, and Fox flash cards, and practice exams.
Anyone has used or heard anything about it?
February 8, 2021 at 2:04 pm #3149I am wondering if it is critical to read all source material for this exam or if the study guides (specifically CF/RF) suffice. Does anyone have insight?
February 8, 2021 at 3:15 pm #3150It depends on a person. I have read all the source at some point and a bunch of manuals. It hasn’t helped me. I have gotten 2 5’s over the last 2.5 years (since it has only been offered twice).
The questions are very tricky and have lots of puzzles.
