I think I have a new theory on why they’re dragging their feet. Possibly they’re trying to dissuade people from doubling up? You know to prevent people from speeding up travel time.
January 21, 2021 at 2:10 pm #2495If you guys could pick between finding out the result instantly, versus finding out the result several weeks later but with a slightly higher chance (maybe .5 point added to your total score) of passing what would it be?
😀
Since we seem to be anxious about this, I thought I ask this pointless question. XD
January 21, 2021 at 2:45 pm #2499Definitely the 0.5 point.
January 21, 2021 at 3:26 pm #2502I’ll caveat my answer. It depends on if they’re actually grading. I get the sense that they finished grading a long time ago and it’s the formalities of the process that are taking a long time. But yes, if they were actually able to find more points from grading thoroughly then sure, I’d wait a bit longer. For me, the worst feeling is a 4 after you realize you waited this long and never had a chance to begin with. When this is all over, I’m gonna spearhead the 0-4 campaign and hopefully get them to email those people after 3 weeks telling them they failed.
January 22, 2021 at 12:10 am #2548Interesting idea. The 0-4 fails get the bad news quicker, but even more pain inflicted on 5s.
January 22, 2021 at 12:23 am #2549The way I see it, the 5s are closer to passing. Yes, they’ll wait a little longer but they’ll also need less time to study for the next sitting.
January 22, 2021 at 12:47 am #2552It would be interesting to see a distribution of grades, but i have a strong suspicion that 5/6 make up the bulk. Most of my fails were a 5.
January 22, 2021 at 1:11 am #2556The CAS is waiting for Feb 3rd which is 8 weeks from December 9th. Even though I’m convinced the grades are finalized
January 22, 2021 at 1:29 am #2557<p style=”text-align: left;”>Don’t get me wrong. I like the idea of releasing results early whenever possible. You may have already said this somewhere above, but by the same logic, wouldn’t you also want the 7+ passers to be notified as early as possible too? They wouldn’t have to give a score early, just “Fail” for the 0-4 people and “Pass” for the 7+ people.</p>
I have been around so long that I have also received many fails. Mostly 5s, I think, but several 4s as well. Would be nice to know if I needed to repeat or could start on something new as early as possible, so I’d join your cause.
January 22, 2021 at 7:50 am #2566Yeh, the 7+ crew could definitely be notified early as well.
January 22, 2021 at 10:10 am #2567When you think of it, even if the 5/6s get their answer later, by definition they will know they’re on the fence so they should have no issues deciding whether they should start studying or not cause they know exactly where they stand.
