Yeah maybe in the future they might make people give an hour long presentation in front of the committee like a PhD dissertation style as a requirement for FCAS
Jokes aside though, I think we all owe the graders/volunteers a big thank you. It’s gotta be tough to be marking/administering the post exam process through the holiday season, and maybe for some, through year end.
I think the issue is when people finish exams, they don’t want anything to do with it for a while. But you’d like to think that the more experienced actuaries would come back. Oh wait, thats what happens. The ones who are disconnected from the material have the most influence on the grading. Yikes.
Well, even assuming that 2 yr moratorium, I meant in general that alot of the younger candidates who know the material better are probably less likely to volunteer until the material becomes stale.
