Ooh Exam 5 had only a 28.9% pass ratio, pretty bad.
I really don’t know but my husband tells me to be persistent. I’m down to telling only our director the results from now on. I also reduced my demographics information on the CAS site since I kind of wonder these days on how they are really grading the exams.
Well I failed the exam for the 8th time so I have already registered for the October 2021 sitting. I’m going to make a new thread.
Yes I’ve done that strategy and even got full credit on the high point problems like indication or Berqest-Sherman. I still didn’t pass.
I was meaning the question, sometimes I do complete subparts on certain questions. I think I’ll stick to starting at the end of the exam where reserving questions are since these are easier to do. My last score made no sense whatsoever. I did finally get exam scheduled at Pearson for this sitting. It had to complain to CAS a few times to get what I wanted and I did finally.
I was able to schedule exam with Pearson however it’s a 4 hour drive. I’m going to keep trying to get testing center that is only 18 miles from me not 250 miles away. This is what the CAS told me to do. They also told me to go back and keep trying trying to schedule at the local one in case time pops up. This to me is so ridiculous as I didn’t have this problem scheduling in 2020 at the same location since they have like 3 times to choose from.
No I never have finished the exam, I have minimized it to only having 4 questions left. However, I know colleagues passed exam and they didn’t finish entire exam.
Well it’s only way to get promoted, I’ve maxed out my current position.
I typically don’t finish but I was closer this last sitting but did actually worse than the October 2019 sitting. So my results make no sense and I will never know how they graded December 2020 sitting now. I’m going to focus on doing reserving questions first since I did this in October 2019 and got a 5 on exam but just didn’t finish exam. Seriously I complained to CAS several times exam was too long but again they don’t care.
I’m stuck where I’m at until I pass Exam 5 and 6U but I refused to do 6U until I pass Exam 5. I mean I can’t really advance since where I work requires the CAS membership by statute. Technically this approach throws out real experience and talent when all you care about is exams and credentials rather look than look at merits and experience.
I guess it’s the exam strategy, I’ve complained to CAS over the years but they don’t care. Now since we can’t talk about exam questions or get examiners reports anymore not going to even now how exam graded or what they want from me now.
Is anyone struggling to schedule exam for May 2021 at Pearson center? I can’t schedule mine in any of the testing centers in my radius so I contacted the CAS about it.
I’m using both Bedford and Infinite Actuary, it’s my 8th attempt at this exam. Syllabus hasn’t changed so I’m going to keep trying to pass it maybe one sitting I will.
Okay thanks for correction.
Exam results looks like will be released January 14. Yay can’t wait (sarcasm I’ve taken Exam 5 too many times and I’m tired of it). Also can’t discuss anymore so I’m clueless how I did. Just wanted to put this info out there.
I doubt I’ll be sitting for Exam 6 in Spring 2021, I’m looking at the Fall 2021 sitting instead. I’ve taken Exam 5 for the 7th time and don’t know at this point if they will finally pass me. However I’ve been told that Battle Acts was good and Infinite Actuary was okay by my co-worker. I’m waiting to see my Exam 5 results first of course whenever they come out. I do wish Bedford would have Exam 6 seminar ready because I enjoyed using for Exam 5. Do you guys suggest Battle Acts? I plan to use my reimbursement to purchase the Exam 6 study seminar whichever one I choose one I know my Exam 5 results, hopefully a pass this time.
