Picturing the exam committee throwing darts at a dart board, still debating the pass marks. Or having a Zoom happy hour debating how much longer they can withhold results.
Well, even assuming that 2 yr moratorium, I meant in general that alot of the younger candidates who know the material better are probably less likely to volunteer until the material becomes stale.
I think the issue is when people finish exams, they don’t want anything to do with it for a while. But you’d like to think that the more experienced actuaries would come back. Oh wait, thats what happens. The ones who are disconnected from the material have the most influence on the grading. Yikes.
We’re always thankful. The CAS needs more volunteers. Period. End of sentence.
Red, thats a tough one. I always get queasy when I get blood drawn. Lol.
No thanks. I think I’ll stick this out till the bitter end (as in the end before the new beginning).
I think I’ll go ahead and define it on my own. It’s what’s going to make me put 500+ hours in next sitting (if I have to) in order to prevent me from having to start all over with whatever sweeping syllabus and requirements changes they have lined up in their back pockets. One thing I’ve learned about the CAS is that they’re a fly by night organization. For all we know, they’ll end up being a requirement this fall.
Of course they are trying to extend travel time. Can’t have too many qualified people in the CAS now.
I like the 0-4 idea. I mean if someone failed from the jump and their papers aren’t even being considered in “Vegas”, why make them wait? You don’t even need to update their transcripts. Just sent them an email saying they got between 0-4 and your fail report is forthcoming.
Nevermind that we are living in a world of instant gratification. That surely doesn’t help.
Yep.
It doesn’t help when your girlfriend is waiting for results as well. No escape.
It’s brutal. The textbook definition of subservience. Not to mention waiting three months for a big fat F when that happens. And then having to explain to people that you spent four months preparing for something and have nothing to show for it.
That too. Lol
Exam committee taking their own sweet time. Unless they’re actively making adjustments to the MQC or something like that, I don’t wanna hear about “people were doing exams till 12/31 or TBE is harder to grade”. Must be nice to not have to worry about exams anymore.
Fingers crossed, before May 3. Cannot imagine being an 11/19 sitter. I’d be losing my mind. I think they’re at the 9 or 10 week point.
